Forever Eyes...

The eyes are two of the most powerful parts of the body. The eyes are the gateway to all of your emotions. The eyes tell all; they tell if you’re happy, sad or mad. The eyes can do it all and that’s why it’s so important we take care of them and make them as beautiful as possible.

Below are some tips to make your eyes go on forever. Follow these tips and you’ll be sure to turn heads.

Line the inner rims of your eyes with kohl eyeliner. Always remember when lining eyes to go the whole way from the inner corners of your eyes to the outer corners of your eyes. Using this technique will make your eyes look longer.

If you use liquid liner, remember to finish off the outer corner of your eyes. Also, remember to continue the line a little beyond the eye. Lengthening your eye in this manner will give it a slight lift; thus making them go on forever.

Shoe Buying Rules To Live By...

I love shoes just as much as the next person, but I’ve recently come to the realization that I have far too many shoes for one person. So as I attempt to get a grasp on my addiction I have chosen to live by these five rules.

1. I have to absolutely LOVE the shoes before I purchase them. This rule very difficult for me to follow because I LOVE all shoes, I don’t discriminate.

2. The shoes have to be quality shoes that have a fair price. This rule is especially difficult for me, because as I mentioned above, I don’t discriminate when it comes to shoes. Expensive ones or cheap ones, I LOVE them ALL!

3. I have to be able to walk comfortably in the shoes. I’ve been known to tell people, “Beauty is pain and pain is beauty.” But as I get older and when it comes to shoes I have to be a little smarter and make sure my shoes are comfortable. I don’t have to be able to run a marathon in them, but I do need to be able to walk comfortably.

4. The shoes MUST match with at least five different styles of clothing. There have been many occasions where I have purchased a shoe and the shoe only matched with one outfit…what a waste of money.

5. Lastly, the shoe can’t be similar to any other shoe in the closet.

Make-Up Gym Bag

It’s a New Year and time for a new YOU, right? RIGHT! As we all write our New Year’s Resolutions, I’m certain lose 10-15 pounds is on every diva, fashionistas list, right? RIGHT! I know it’s been on mine EVERY year since I was twenty one years old and guess what, it’s on the list again! As I make a vow to myself to hit the gym more frequently I have also vowed to keep my gym bag packed and loaded with all

In my make up gym bag I will have the following items: concealer, foundation, mascara, blush, and finishing powder and a brush for application.

Concealer: a cream concealer is a must when going to the gym, because you can blend it with your finger tips and there’s no need to pack around extra brushes.

Foundation: I’m a MAC Studio Tech girl, so I’ll definitely be packing this product in my gym bag. This product is easy to apply, because all I have to do is pull out my wedge sponge and go to work.

Mascara: I’m a sample junkie and I have tons of mascara samples, so there is no need to pack around the full size mascara when I have a ton of samples to spare.

Blush: I love, LOVE, LOVE blush, so I will definitely be packing it in my gym make up bag. To apply my blush, a brush is necessary, but it should not be much of a problem and it won’t take up much space in my bag.

Finishing Powder: To polish off my look I will definitely need my finishing powder. A quick sweep of this powder and I’m good to go.

Packing these five products in my gym bag is going to make my life much, much easier. These products allow for quick make up application and allow me to do what I need to do in the gym and then get on with my day.

Ciao and Good Luck with your New Year’s resolutions!

Metallic Is The NEW Smoky...

The smoky eye look is back, but it’s not like it ever left the scene. This season smoky is back, but with a twist…a metallic twist. For all you fashionistas and divas that loved the flat, black smoky eye look I’m certain you’ll love the new metallic twist on the look. The metallic smoky look is simple to achieve. Just follow the same tips and you’ll be in good shape.

Any brand of metallic shadow can be used to achieve this look, but you all know my FAVORITE brand to use is MAC. Any metallic shadow by MAC will do when trying to achieve this look, so take a trip to the counter pick some shades and get to work.

Don’t forget to pair your metallic smoked eyes with a nude lip. Pairing this look with a nude lip will have heads turning.

What Is A Blanket Coat...

I know you’re all thinking, WTH is a blanket coat?!?! Don’t be alarmed, I was thinking the same thing when I heard about this new fashion accessory. After a little research (Thank God for Google), I was able to get a little understanding of what a blanket coat was and more importantly, how to wear the thing.

Before we get into how to wear the coat, let’s get a clearer definition of what exactly a blanket coat is. A blanket coat is something like an extra long coat with no buttons and extra long flaps. It’s something like a poncho, for lack of better explanation. It sounds pretty ugly and doesn’t seem like it’s all that wearable, right? Well…WRONG! The blanket coat is one of the most stylish pieces of the season. This chic and stylish garment can be worn with a thick knit sweater, men’s inspired trousers or even a pencil skirt. Since the coat does not have any buttons or zippers, pair it with a belt to give it a closure piece or to add a little shape to the garment.

The beauty of this stylish garment is that it can be worn casually or formally. Having a versatile garment in the closet is every fashionistas dream and this piece here, is definitely it. Try it, you might like it.

Blush Is A MUST...

All who know me well know that I love, LOVE, LOVE blush! It’s one of my favorite make-up accessories next to mascara. In my opinion, blush is the finishing touch to any make up job and it has the ability to transform you look with just one sweep of the brush. Blush can be worn with a full face or with a bare face, just to add a little color for those quick runs to the grocery store.

The key to making your blush look great is the technique. Technique is EVERYTHING when applying make up. If you use the wrong technique, your make up could end up looking a hot mess, a la Tammy Faye Baker. In addition to having good technique, good product and good tools are a must.

Blush application techniques are relatively simple and you don’t have to be a MAC artist to get it done. When applying blush, simply apply the product from the apple of your cheek towards the temple. Start the application by taking the blush outwards, then down and finally upwards.

If you’re a little more on the daring side, you could always channel your inner 80’s look and mark your cheek bones up with a toasted blush. It’s your call, there’s nothing wrong with being a little daring.

No matter your style, you must remember BLUSH is a MUST!

Luscious Lashes...

Hello Pearlie B’s Fashionistas! It’s another great day in the world of fashion and make up. Today’s topic is Luscious Lashes…

Want luscious lashes like the models on TV, but don’t have the time to apply falsies or have the funds to get eyelash extensions? Well, I’ve got a major tip for you and it’s quite simple. Follow the simple steps listed below and your lashes will be FAB-U-LOUS!

To thicken your eyelashes to look like the models on TV AND make it look like you have twice as many, the first step is to apply one coat of mascara. Then before the first coat dries, use a wide eye shadow brush to apply loose powder to eyelashes. The powder application between the first and last coat of mascara thickens the cream and you get an unbelievable thickening effect on the lashes. Last, apply one last coat of mascara and you’re done!

Pearlie B Diva Tip of the Day:
For extra mascara coverage, pass the wand both over and under your lashes.

Did Somebody Say Mini-Dress?!?!

Hello, Pearlie B’s Fashionistas! It’s another great day in the world of fashion and make up. Today’s topic is the infamous MINI-DRESS!!!

This season hemlines and the temperature outside is creep, creep, CREEPIN on up and mini-dresses are the best way to combat the unbearable summer heat. All of the heavy weights in the fashion world have put their hope and faith into this itsy, bitsy, teeny, weeny fashion phenomenon. The Heavy Weights (Dior, Louis Vuitton, Lanvin and Cavalli) have defined the silhouette, and respected the shape of this fashion hit, thus allowing for the rapid disposal of baby doll dresses we’ve all been guilty of wearing a time or two on a hot summer day.

With the mini-dress taking the fashion scene by storm, there’s no telling what you’ll see completing this oh-so fabulous look. The fashionistas of the world are hitting the catwalk and the pavement with a plethora of variations for the mini-dress. Any given day, you’re bound to see a fashionistas with a strapless, asymmetrical neckline, heavy, transparent and dare I say GEM STONE mini dress?!?! This season, it’s quite evident ANYTHING GOES!!!

In the past, the mini-dress was known as a relatively risqué piece if worn incorrectly, but this season femininity reigns supreme, so there’s no way you can go wrong. Are you ready to wear the mini-dress crown this season? If so, I suggest you get out, get your mini-dress, and strut your stuff!

Eyeliner is a MUST This Season...GET IT NOW!

Hello my beautiful Pearlie B’s Fashionistas! It’s another great day in the world of fashion and make up. Today’s topic is EYELINER! If you’ve never used eyeliner, now is the time. Different eyeliner styles and techniques are being displayed all over the catwalk, the silver screen and the streets. If you want to keep up with your fellow Pearlie B’s Fashionistas, you better get on the eyeliner train.

Eyeliner is by far one of the most misunderstood elements of make up application. Eyeliner can be used to shape and define your eyes after you’ve applied eye shadow and before applying mascara. Eyeliner draws attention to your eyes and helps them ‘pop’. There are a variety of eyeliner application techniques to complete your look. You can choose a soft stroke or a bold, dramatic line. No matter what look you choose, just know your look is not complete until you seal the deal with a little eyeliner.

Listed below are a few hottest trends in eyeliner application. Try one, try them all…

The Look: Cleopatra

Achieve The Look: To achieve the Cleopatra look, line your eyes at the top and bottom with a firm, definite line. To complete the look, join the two lines together at the outer corner and Voila! You’re done!

The Look: Cat Eyes

Achieve The Look: To achieve the Cat Eyes look, line along the upper lashes and extend the line out past the outer corner of the eyes and Meow! You’ve got a fierce cat eye!

The Look: Disco

Achieve The Look: To achieve the Disco look, line starting at the far inner corners and move outward, finishing with a little tail on the corner.

The Look: Retro

Achieve The Look: Thanks to Amy Winehouse the Retro look is coming back with a vengeance. To complete the Retro look just draw a thick line with a tail at the outer corners of the eyes, and you are done!

I Love These Eyes...

Hello my beautiful Pearlie B's Fashionistas! It's a great day in the world of fashion and make up. Today's topic is achieving FAB-U-LOUS eyes. It looks a little difficult, but it's really quite simple. If you'd like to achieve this look, follow these simple steps and you'll be the BADDEST girl on the block!

1. Choose two shades: one cool and one warm. Try the ones shown in the photo or pinks and greens, mauves and yellows, greens and yellows, purples and pinks...there are a number of color combinations to choose from, so choose a combination that suits you best!

2. To make things easier, divide the lid into two parts. Put the lighter shade on the inner half of lid and the darker shade on the outer half.

3. Use the darker shade on the lower lash line, because it will frame the eyes better than the lighter shade.

4. Then blend the lighter shade onto the brow bone to increase luminosity.

5. Apply mascara, and voila! you're done!

Make-up Trend Of The Season: Satin Texture Skin

Hello my beautiful Pearlie B's Fashionistas! It's a great day in the world of fashion and make up. Today's topic is Satin Textured Skin.

Satin textured skin is all the rage this season and will continue to be a major influence as we head into the fall and winter months. As we head into the fall and winter months you will see street fashionistas everywhere adding bolder touches to this trend by applying touches of shine to highlight different areas of the face.

One of the key steps to achieving satin textured skin is to remember when applying shimmery products, cream or powder, it is important to carefully control where the product falls so it does not end up in areas under the eye or in areas with imperfections will be more obvious when shiny.

It is also important to remember that not all skin types are suited for the satin textured look. If imperfections are present, choose a foundation with more coverage and a matte finish, which will be more flattering.

Home Day Spa...

Home Day Spa...

Hello all my beautiful Pearlie B's Fashionistas! It's a great day in the world of fashion and make up. Today's topic is Pampering Yourself At Home.

There's nothing like spending a day at the spa and being pampered the way every diva truly deserves. But during these turbulent economic times who really has the money to splurge on a day at the spa?! If you're a diva on a budget, like me, you will appreciate this article. Having a spa day doesn't mean you have to spend an arm and a leg, especially when you can bring the spa to your home. Listed below are some easy ways to bring the spa to your home and not break the bank.

1. A good face and body exfoliation is an excellent way to jump start your ritual. Stop by your local CVS or Walgreens to see what's available and head home to get started.

2. Once you have exfoliated your face and body, follow up by using a face mask. Depending on how your skin is feeling, use a calming or moisturizing mask. Like the exfoliator, you can find a great face mask at your local CVS or Walgreens.

3. For hair, it's smart to start with a great wash and scalp massage, followed by a hair mask or deep conditioner which can be left on hair for about 20 minutes. My personal favorite shampoo and conditioner combination is Pantene Relaxed and Natural or any KeraCare products.

4. A good body moisturizer is essential to your home spa day experience. Since summer is here and in full effect, it is very necessary to make sure your skin is very moisturized. After all, nobody likes a girl with rough, dry skin.

5. Hands and feet are the final stop of your home spa day experience. Besides filing and painting your nails, hydrating your cuticles is very important. After hydrating the cuticles on your hands and feet, polish your toes and nails in one of the many hot colors of the season.
6. To complete your home spa day experience, treat yourself to some fresh fruit, and wine or a cocktail, and relax and enjoy being a DIVA!

Amazing Lips...

Hello my beautiful Pearlie B's Fashionistas! It's a great day in the world of fashion and make up. Today's topic is Amazing Lips.

To achieve amazing lips and be at the forefront of the latest trends, read on and you'll definitely be on the right track to looking FAB-U-LOUS!

The most captivating trends of the day are fluorescent and acid tones, transparent, pearlescent, and iridescent textures with little coverage and lots of shine. Matching your lip and cheek color are very, VERY popular this season. Lucky for you, many brands are offering products that can be used on both lips and cheeks. The most fashionable colors are corals, berries, and even FUSCHIA!

Professional Tip:
Remember your lips tell it all. Choose the color that works best for you and your skin tone.

I Think It's Time To Upgrade...

For some odd reason or another people think you have to have a lot of money to be in style, but I’m here to tell you that’s totally not true! As a self-proclaimed Diva/Recessionista (Recessionista: adjective; Fashionista trying to make it in the midst of this awful recession) I am telling you that you can upgrade your style by spending little or no money.

The first step to upgrading your style is to learn how to style your own hair and apply your own make up. Changing your hair and make up can work wonders on your new look and it doesn’t cost much because most of us have the supplies we need right under our bathroom sink. So take a minute and step out on a limb when it comes to hair and make up.

The second step to upgrading your style is to define YOUR personal style based on YOUR needs. For example, if you work in a club environment, your wardrobe would be totally different than the wardrobe of a person that works in an office environment. Bottom line, select clothes that are conducive to your life style.

The third step to upgrading your style is to know what clothing looks best on you. It doesn’t matter how big or small you are, there are clothes out there designed to fit your body type. However, just because they make it in your size (big or small) does not mean you have to buy it. The key thing to remember is that your clothing needs to be respectful to you, your body and others around you.

The fourth step to upgrading your style is to accessorize, ACCESSORIZE, ACCESSORIZE! Accessories can change your look almost as drastically as changing your hair and make up. Try accessories such as sunglasses, scarves, colorful heels, sandals, and flip flops, necklaces, and bracelets. If you know how to use these accessories correctly you will be all glammed out and feeling new!

Accessory Check 1-2, 1-2...

This season the inspirations for accessories are all over the place. On any given day you can see pieces that resemble fashions from the 80’s, tribal pieces, or pieces laden with precious stones that take you back to the aristocratic era of Marie Antoinette. This season oversized pieces and layered jewelry is used to grab the attention of everyone you come in contact with on a regular basis.

Although the recession is attacking fashionistas from all angles, it is imperative tht you understand FASHION knows no limitations. In order to keep up with the fashionistas in your inner circle, costume jewelry is the way to go. Wearing costume jewelry keeps you up to date all while keeping your pocketbook in check.

Maxi necklaces, extra-extra large rings with precious stones, extra long earrings and pendant earrings have been seen all over the catwalk and the sidewalk. Chunky gold jewelry is a must this season. If you don’t have any chunky gold jewelry I suggest you get some ASAP!

When wearing costume jewelry as an everyday accessory it’s important to maintain a look that can be taken seriously, but still pushes the envelope. When wearing flamboyant jewelry it’s important to make sure your accessories match your clothing. For example, during the day it’s wise to pair a chunky necklace with a strapless maxi dress. For a more polished evening look try pairing skinny pants or pleated pants with a sheer or plain top and a set of bangles or chunky bracelets encrusted with precious stones. Adding bangles and chunky bracelets to this ensemble will keep your outfit fun, but classy. One last look you may consider trying is pairing chunky earrings with tops or dresses that leave your shoulders bare. This look will not only look elegant, it will showcase your great shoulders and your fabulous jewelry.

Do The Naomi Campbell Walk...

I know there isn’t a woman in the world who hasn’t looked at Naomi Campbell’s legs and thought to themselves, ‘DANG! How can I get legs like that?!’ The critics will tell you genetics, gym junkies will tell you to do squats or some other debilitating exercise, but I’m here to tell you there’s a way to get great legs without all the pain, suffering and cursing your parents for giving you the stumpy leg gene. Now, they aren’t going to look like Naomi’s, but they’ll look good enough to get some looks from the opposite sex.

The key to getting fabulous legs is really simple…are you ready for the tip?! Here’s the tip: the key to having great looking legs is to unify the color of the knees and ankles with the rest of the skin. There are wonderful products available that will assist with this process. The key thing to do is combine each product to get the desired change.

One product is something that most of us already have in our make up bag: daily fluid foundation. The other product that will assist in the creation of fabulous legs is illuminating body moisturizer. If you don’t feel like going through all the trouble of mixing and rubbing on different products you could always opt to use MAC Skin Sheen Leg Spray. I’m a fan of the Mac Skin Sheen Leg Spray because it’s hassle free and makes my legs look FAB-U-LOUS! Using these products together will give you a great set of legs that will turn heads on a regular basis. So go head girl, ‘Do the Naomi Campbell walk, Naomi Campbell walk…walk across the stage and do the Naomi Campbell walk…’

Whitney Eve

If you didn't watch The Hills back in the good ol' days (circa Lauren Conrad a.k.a L.C. days) or if you don't watch The City (The Hills spin-off) chances are you have no idea who Whitney Port is, nor do you care. But if you're a self-proclaimed Hills/City/fashion junkie like me, then you know who this up and coming designer is.

Whitney Port's line, Whitney Eve, made its debut at Bryant Park during the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. Whitney's line features dresses, skirts, and women's tops that can be worn both day and night. It's fair to say Whitney's line is quite girly with a quirky, edgy twist, much like the reality star's personal style.

With a hit reality tv show, a successful run at Teen Vogue magazine, and the extraordinary guidance and encouragement  of People's Revolution, Kelly Cutrone, there's not doubt this up and coming designer will take the fashion world by storm.

The Whitney Eve collection can be viewed on her website, http://www.whitneyeve.com/ and some pieces of the collection can be purchased on the website http://www.shop.seenon.com/.

Olivia Palermo: The Fashionista We Love To Hate

Olivia Palermo, NYC socialite turned reality TV star is the fashionist we love to hate on the hit reality show, The City. On the show she has been depicted as the lazy, spoiled, privileged socialite that wouldn't know hard work if it bit her in the ass, but none of that really matters to me. When I watch The City, I'm totally focused on Olivia's style and I know all my real fashionista sisters of the world are focused on the same thing.

Olivia's versatile style sets her far apart and above all the rest. Her ability to channel classic looks a la Catherine Hephburn and Jackie O. drives the real fashionistas of the world wild. Then just as we get comfortable with her classic day time look she switches gears and hits us with a more edgy, more funky, more daring pieces. Olivia's everchanging style keeps ALL fashionistas on the edge of their seats, chomping at the bit, anticipating MORE!

All I can say is, keep us thirsting for more, Ms. Palermo...you got it going on girl!

The Jumpsuit: To Wear or Not To Wear...That Is The Question...

When The Jumpsuit hit the runways many fashionistas didn’t know whether to call this a fashion hit or miss. After much discussion, I think it is safe to say The Jumpsuit is a definite YES and has been replacing the ever so classic cocktail dress at parties all over the world. The great thing about The Jumpsuit is you don’t have to be 52 pounds soaking wet to pull it off. By following a few simple tricks girls all over the world will be able to rock The Jumpsuit.
DO: Wear a jumpsuit to a dinner party instead of a cocktail dress. As mentioned before, The Jumpsuit is the new cocktail dress, but with much more versatility. Paired with the right items your jumpsuit can be worn as day wear and as night wear.
DO: Pair your jumpsuit with a belt or a blazer if you’re not 100% comfortable in the piece. Wearing a belt or blazer can break up the look and keep you from looking like you had a flash back moment to toddler-hood.

DO: Pair your jumpsuit with FABULOUS accessories. If your jumpsuit is strapless pair it with some flashy, appropriately over the top earrings or try a chunky chain and bangles. No matter which direction you go on the accessory route, make sure all accessory pieces are complimentary to your ensemble.
DO: Keep the jumpsuit look funky and modern and wear jumpsuits in solid colors, sophisticated fabrics, and other appropriate styles.

DON’T: Do a head to toe pattern. Better yet, don’t do any pattern when wearing a jumpsuit. Think about it, would you wear a checked top and checked pants? Uh, NO! That’s like committing fashion suicide! Bury that awful combination as soon as possible and don’t ever let it rear it’s ugly head again…EVER!

DON’T: Purchase a jumpsuit that is not complimentary to your body shape or makes you feel self-conscious about the nagging lumps and bumps most women have. The jumpsuit you choose to rock should skim your body and make you feel sexy and sophisticated.
Still a little hesitant to rock the jumpsuit? Build your confidence by going to your local retailer and trying on a few in the dressing room. You’ll be amazed at how fabulous you’ll look. Once upon a time I thought the jumpsuit was not the look for me, but I stepped out on a limb, tried one on was surprisingly pleased. So come on ladies, be brave, be daring and try on The Jumpsuit.

Best I Ever Had: Which Mascara Is Best For YOU?

Make up counters, make up aisles and make up websites are inundated with all types of mascaras that promise to do several things to your eyelashes. Some promise to thicken, some promise to lengthen, some have a comb, while others have brushes or funny looking little brushes that look like medieval torture devices. No matter what it looks like, they all promise to do something...make you look fabulous. Today we are going to explore the wonderful world of mascara and decide what works best for you.

Eyelash Type I: Thick and Full Eyelashes

If the Eyelash Fairy blessed you with thick and full eyelashes going with a mascara that just adds color is probably the best route for you to take.

Eyelash Type II: Short Eyelashes

If you have short lashes and you want to add length the best route for you to take is to use a mascara that makes eyelashes appear longer. When using this type of mascara make sure the brush bristles are separated and the cream is light.

Eyelash Type III: Thin Eyelashes

If you have thin eyelashes the best route for you to follow is to select a mascara that has a brush with bristles that are very close together and a thicker cream. If brush bristles are spread too far apart the mascara will leave excess product on the lashes which causes clumping.

Pearlie Pointer:

There are two mascaras on the market that carry all of the aforementioned qualities. One is DiorShow by Christian Dior (this one is my ABSOLUTE favorite) and the other is Lash Queen from H. Rubinstein. Try one or try them both, I promise you'll be satisfied.

The Wild, Wild West...

I love my cowboy boots, I wear them all the time. Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring I have my cowboy boots on. I guess I can thank my dad and my Texas roots for my love of the Almighty Cowboy boot. This season designers like Jean-Paul Gautier and his Hermes collection and Ricardo Tisci's Givenchy collection have taken the Wild Wild West to the catwalk.

If you're not a Texan or you're not a fashion risk taker, no need to worry when trying to rock this style out. Almost anyone can rock this style and the great thing about it is it can be worn day or night. Take a plaid or plain prairie skirt, pair it with a simple white tank or button down shirt and your cowboy boots and BAM! you are ready for a night out with the girls. If you're feeling super daring pair it with some Daisy Dukes and hit the streets like the fierce fashion warrior you are.

No matter how you choose to rock this style, you really can't go wrong. Make it your own and wear it with confidence in pride. In no time you'll be saying, 'Howdy partner!' and tippin your hat to your fellow fashionistas!

Ciao!

Back Of The Closet Wardrobe Staples

Everyone knows the Little Black Dress will ALWAYS and FOREVER be a wardrobe staple for women across the globe, bu we ALWAYS forget about those simple pieces in the back of the closet that make the LBD look like a different LBD each time we wear it.

Shawl: This piece can bring style and elegance to any ensemble. Pair it with a casual outfit or your LBD on a cool afternoon or evening.

Clutch or Handbag: Much like the shawl, the clutch or handbag is very necessary when completing your look. The clutch or handbag gives an opportunity to show your unique style. Try a small beaded clutch in the evening or an oversized hobo during the day for a more casual, laid back look.
The Shoes: The shoes say it all! When selecting shoes for your LBD you can go classic or you can go outrageous. It doesn't matter what you choose, because shoes are easy to combine with other outfits and you can add touch of elegance to almost anything.
Valuable Accessories: Not all of us are able to run to the jeweler to grab a fine, VVS diamond encrusted piece to go with our LBD, so we must improvise and choose CZs, faux pearls, Swarovsky rings, necklaces or bracelets to complete our look. The key is to select pieces that make you feel comfortable and special.

Good luck, Fashionistas!

Bye, Bye Raccoon Eyes...

It's Saturday night and you're getting ready to hit the town with your girls. You just finished detailing your brows and put the finishing touch on the most awesome eyeshadow job. You're just about to bring the 'IT' factor by adding your favorite mascara. You pull out the wand of your favorite mascara and start applying when all of a sudden you realize you've got mascara all over your lid...AHHHHHH!!!

I know this has happened to every girl that's sitting at their computer reading this blog. Just the thought of this situation probably aggravates you to no end, but I'm here to tell you those days are over if you follow these simple tips.

First, there are two reasons why the mascara goes everywhere but the right place. One reason is you haven't waited long enough to let the mascara dry and the second reason is you haven't tilted your head back far enough.

I know the first reason seems pretty reasonable, but the second reason seems a little far fetched, right??? WRONG!!! Go ahead, try applying your mascara with your head tilted back and you'll DEFINITELY see the difference and love me more than you already do!

For you hard headed divas, fashionistas, frugalistas, and recessionistas I have another solution for what to do when your mascara gets a little wild and crazy. Do not attempt to clean your mascara when it's wet. Let it dry for a minute, dampen a cotton swab and erase your error.

Transformer: More Than Meets The Eye...

If you're anything like me, you love to shop and in a perfect world you'd shop everyday. But the reality of the matter is in these current economic times you can't be shopping and spending money all willy-nilly.

BUT there is light at the end of the tunnel. Just because we are forced to channel our inner recessionista our style does not have to suffer. Save money by transforming your style. Transforming your style is chic, easy, and cheap.

The Wide Belt: Start transforming your personal style with a wide belt. Wide belts can take any shirt, dress, or skirt from drab to fab!

Embellished Necklace: A shiny, chunky, embellished necklace with a plain t-shirt or a plain button up will give your look a new touch and transform your total image.

Bracelets: Adorn your wrist with bangles and embellished bangles. You can sport your bangles alone or pile several on at once. Whatever you choose to do, I doubt you'll be disappointed...bangles and bracelets make every outfit fun!

Flat Boots: I LOVE, LOVE flat boots. Wearing flat boots are comfortable and ALWAYS give every diva an opportunity to take a load off her feet. Flat boots can be worn day or night and are guaranteed to make you feel super sexy!

All That Glitters IS Gold...

As we approach the fall season, metallic tones are DEFINITELY the way to go. While silver and steel tones have been the showstoppers of season's past, this season gold is the REAL Queen of the Fashion Court.
Inspired by the hip hop style of the early 80s to late 90s that showed us no gold chain, medallion or earring was too big to rock designers of today have decided to create their own newer, more innovative versions. Be prepared to see fashionistas all over the world are rockin 'dookie' chains, name plate medallions, bamboo earrings and door knockers.

Dresses, coats, tops, and pants will be covered in gold adn glitter this season and those that are rockin these styles will not go unnoticed. Versace, Prada, Burberry and Prosum have all paid their respect to this precious metal and FABULOUS color. The real question at hand is, are YOU ready to do your part in this fashion revolution? Are you ready to pay homage to the REAL Queen of the Fashion Court? I have three words for you...I DARE YOU!!!

Upside Down, Inside Out

"Upside down, inside out...I'm 'bout to show all you folks what it's all about..." Ooops! had a quick flashback to 'WHOOMP! There it is!' and Tag Team (LOL). Seriously though, I'm about to show you guys what it means to turn your wardrobe upside down and inside out. Carrying out this task will take some time and energy but once you get it done you will be so glad you did...I know I was.

First, determine the season...if you're going into the fall season pack up your summer and spring clothes. If you're going into summer pack up your fall and winter gear. Systematically organizing your closet will save you a t on of time when getting dressed because you'll be able to see everything in your closet because it's so organized.

Second, try to use the same size/style hanger throughout your closet. I'm a frugal fashionista, a frugalista if you will, so I get ALL of my hangers from Wal-Mart for about $1.25 and so can you!

Third, make all hangers face teh same direction. Facing hangers in the same direction provides consistency and order.

Fourth, hang only one shirt or two pants per hanger. I prefer hanging only one item per hanger, but you have to do what works for you.

Fifth, organize your clothing by the following categories: Tops, bottoms, skirts, jackets, and pants. It's really easy to keep all items that go on top on one side and those that go on the bottom on the other side. After you separate your clothes on one side of the closet or another, organize each side by color. I know it seems anal, but trust me, IT WORKS!

Following these simple suggestions will not only make your closet look good, it will make you feel good because you'll be able to navigate your closet with ease.

WHOOMP THERE IT IS...
