Dress Right For Your Type: Boyish Figure

It's that time again...time for another session of Dress Right For Your Type!

For my diva, fashionistas with boyish figures it's all about creating a curvy illusion. How might a diva, fashionista with a boyish figure pull of such a daunting task one may ask? Well, the key to creating a curvy illusion for those with a boyish figure is to use lace, ruffles, puff sleeves and feminine patterns. The use of ruffles and lace in the front area of a shirt can give the illusion of a larger bust on a woman with a boyish figure.

Since women with boyish figures tend to have flat chests so wearing bras with a little padding can be very helpful when creating the curvy illusion. The padded bra also gives that extra OOMPH! in the bust area and can help fill up a top in a heart beat.

For bottoms, women with boyish figures want to stick to jeans with back pockets. The back pockets give the illusion of a butt and they add volume to the derriere. Low cut and skinny jeans are the MOST flattering on women with this body type.

When it comes to dresses, baby doll dresses are a woman with a boyish figure's best friend! Most baby doll dresses are low cut, so utilizing the padded bra when wearing a baby doll dress assists in the creation of a more curvaceous figure. If you're not a dress kind of girl, but you don't mind a skirt from time to time try wearing a layered bohemian or floral pattern to off-set the boyish figure.

No matter what kind of body type you have, boyish or curvy the key to rockin out any style is to be comfortable and confident. Comfort and confidence go a long way when it comes to fashion.
