For The Fellas: Keep It Classy...

Hey Fellas!

As much as you may want to deny it, you can't help but LOVE JT and his oh-so dapper style. He's come a long way from his 'N Sync days (I mean, really...the Jheri Curl? Not so cool JT). Long gone are the days of the Jheri Curl, metallic pants, and other random 'fashion' (using that term loosely) pairings. JT is coming at us grown man style and he even let us know with his chart topping hit, 'Suit and Tie' featuring none other than Jay-Z! You fellas could learn a thing or two from Mr. Timberlake...ain't nothing wrong with rockin a suit and tie every once in a while.

Take a peek at JT's style over the years and really appreciate where he came from (and pray that he doesn't revert back to The Curl and those crazy clothes) to where he is now. He's definitely had a Drake moment when it comes to his fashion choices...he started from the bottom now he here!

Ciao fellas and see ya at the TOP!

What Goes With What?

Hey Lovies!

A while back a follower asked me a question about what colors go with each  other this season. She was in a style rut and needed a little help from  yours truly. The follower had orange pants, but didn't know what color top to pair with the fabulous pants, other than black. Of course I gave her some great suggestions...some wild and some mild. After I gave my suggestions, I thought a little more about her question and figured she probably wasn't the only one having struggles when it came to deciding what colors complemented each other best.

I could make a long list of colors that complement eachother this season, but I thought it'd be much easier if I gave all of you an illustration. Check the photo below and all of your color combo dilemmas should be washed away. If you have any questions, shoot me an email at boujebeauty@gmail.com or post a comment below and I'll be sure to get back to you!

Fashion Friday...

Hey Lovies! It's baaaaaaaaaaaaaacccccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk Fashion Friday! Take a look at these boots and let me know what you think! Yea or Nay?

I'm in the middle on this one, lovies. If you know me and know me well, then you know I'm a complete and total klutz. As a matter of fact, I recently fell down the stairs at my house (no shame in my game...a klutz is a klutz is a klutz). Fortunately, I just had a little bruise, nothing major. So yeah, rocking out a pair of boots like this maybe a little risque for me! BUT y'all know I like to push the limits, so if I can find a pair in my size, I just MIGHT rock a pair.

Enjoy lovies and see ya at the TOP!

Ciao!

SN: I'm a little concerned about this little clear area...foot sweat, GROSS! The little plastic part is also reminiscent of those awful Melissa shoes people used to wear back in the gap that would fog up once your feet started sweating.

House of Dereon Fall 2012 Collection...

Hey Lovies! Blue Ivy's mama has done it again and is letting us know she was here last year and here again  in 2012. Beyonce and her mother, Mrs. Tina, will be releasing the House of Dereon 2012 Fall Collection REALLY soon and it can only be described in TWO words: Fierce.Hunty. *snaps fingers and flips hair* This new collection from the mother/daughter fashion duo is absolutely amazing and totally out of the box for these fashionistas. Think diva fashionista meets hipster meets biker chick. Mrs. Carter is still keeping it sexy this season with curve hugging dresses, bootylicious bottoms and such, but she's thrown in biker boots and some other punk-y accessories to give it just the right amount of edge. I don't know about y'all, but I'm damn excited about this collection, Beyonce's new album (she's been in the lab with Ye and Hit Man...SN: Y'all think she allows Kim K. to come to sessions???? None of my business, but I just wondering...), and of course seeing more pics of Miss Blue Ivy. I'm excited y'all...I love it when Texas girls do BIG things! #HTownStandUp

Enjoy these pics lovies and see ya at the TOP!

JUST DO IT!

Okay lovies, just when you thought you had seen it all from Nike. The other day I posted pics of the Tiffany inspired tennis shoes...NOW! Take a look at these Nike Pointe shoes for ballerinas. I'm no ballerina, but if Nike can make you fly like Jordan, I'm certain they can make you pirouette like Mikhail Baryshnikov. Check em out, lovies!

Our Favorite Pitbull In A Skirt: Eve

I've been a lover of Eve, Ruff Ryder's First Lady, The Pitbull In A Skirt, ever since she first hit the scene. I haven't always been a lover of her style (especially not when she first came out), but as she got BIGGER, she became more polished and refined and I LOVED her even more. Well, now she's back and I'm excited...she's back with a new look. It's very, ummm...Diana Ross, which screams DIIIIIIIIIIIIIVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA to the max. I'm loving the new look...what do y'all think?

Ciao and see ya at the TOP, lovies!

Love the hair, but not sure what she's posing on...is that one of those little cat houses from TJ Maxx?
And is that a wig on the back of her couch?! Oh Eve...you are so REAL! LOVE IT!

Diva Supreme...

As the world mourns the death of one of America's ORIGINAL divas, Pearlie's Fashion Passion is taking a minute to reflect on Whitney Houston's fabulous style over the years. Never the one to shy away from a trend or start one herself, Ms. Houston was the queen of all things fashion. From sequins, to feathers, to leather, to fur, long hair, short hair, straight hair, curly hair...Ms. Houston was EVERY woman and she will be dearly missed. RIP Whitney Houston!

DIY Marble Nails...

Hey Lovies!

I can do a lot of things, but painting my nails is not one of them. For those of you that are adventurous and talented when it comes to polishing nails, this may be the post for you. Below I've shared the step by step process on how to achieve this hot new nail polish trend, MARBLE NAILS! Yup, I said it marble nails.

If you're brave and you give it a whirl, let me know by snapping a pic and sending it to me via email at boujebeauty@gmail.com and I'll post your pic on the blog and on my FB page. I look forward to seeing the designs you all come up with.

Good luck, enjoy annnnnddddd See ya at the TOP!

Ciao!
xoxo

How to Achieve Marble Nails:

1. Apply a base coat to nails. The base coat will help the polish 'stick' to the nails and it helps with longevity.

2. Take out as many colors you want to create your design. Remember the marbling process is rather time consuming, so you may consider starting out with a limited number of colors until you get comfortable.

3. Fill a bowl you don't care about ruining with room temperature water. If the water is not room temperature, fill the bowl and leave it out for about an hour so that it gets to the correct temperature. The incorrect temperature could ruin your look.

4. Choose the first color polish you'd like to use and take out the wand. Do not try to remove the polish drop from the tip of the wand. Simply hold the wand over the bowl filled with water and let it drop. The drop will fall and quickly spread across the water's surface.

5. Do the same thing with the  other polishes you've chosen.

6. Continue to alternate the colors until desired color mixture is achieved.

7. Take a toothpick and divide the design into two separate parts.

8. Make as many lines in the design as you'd like.

9. When you've completed the design, dip your nail into the bowl and remove.

10. Repeat this step until all nails are completely covered with the marble design.

11. When your nails dry, carefully clean them with nail polish remover and add a top coat.

12. VOILA! You now have marble nails!

How To STYLISHLY Wear A Headscarf...

Hey Lovies! I know we've all been victims of the dreaded bad hair day. Lately everyday seems like a bad hair day for me because I'm trying to grow out my 'short hair don't care' look and it's just not cooperating. If I worked in a different environment I'd be wearing turbans and head wraps each and every day of the week. Since I work in Corporate America I'm forced to come up with some kinda do' for this head. I usually manage to come up with something that's cute to the outside world, but dreadful to me. Let's just say I LIVE for the every other Friday appointment I have with my stylist, Ashlee McClaurin at Exclusive Hair Salon (Wichita, KS).

While in my eyes I may look a mess during the week, I look fantastically FABULOUS on the weekends because I wear my turbans and my head scarves. When I wear my turbans I get compliments all over the place and when I wear my head scarves I get even more...why you may ask? Because I tie my head scarves in a plethora of stylish ways and I'm going to provide you with step by step instructions on how to tie your head scarf in a stylish way and you will NOT have to go out of the house looking like someone's mama with your scarf on.

The scarf tying technique shown below was done by Keiko Lynn, a fabulous blogger and fashionista. Take a look at the pics and the steps provided by Keiko and give it a whirl when you have free time. As I always mention, try a style, take a pic and send it to me and I'll post your pic on the blog! Good luck with this look, lovies! See ya at the TOP!

Ciao!
xoxo

Take a large square scarf, any print will do, and lay it on a flat surface

Fold one corner to the other to form a triangle

Fold the corner down to the middle and fold again, but not to the edge...you don't want it to be too thick

Put the scarf around your head with the ends in the front. Make sure the inner folded parts are against your head. You do not want the folded parts to be exposed

Tie a loose knot in the front. Don't worry, the loose knot will not make your scarf slide off

Tuck the ends of the scarf behind/underneath the wide band

There you have it! A stylish way to tie your head scarf and you DON'T look like someone's mama!

First Lady Of Fashion: Michelle Obama

I'm LONNNNGGG overdue for a post about our FABULOUS First Lady of Fashion. Eversince she hit the scene, the FLOTUS (First Lady of The United States) has had the internet going NUTS! Women of all races, shapes, and sizes rush to the internet to see what she's wearing now, what she's going to wear next, where they can get it and how they can wear it as FABULOUSLY as she did. In my opinion, Mrs. Obama's style has surpassed that of Jackie O. (don't get me wrong, Jackie O. was a fierce fashionista too) and she is very deserving of wearing the First Lady of Fashion crown. Mrs. Obama's ability to mix off the rack with high end makes her relatable to fashionistas of ALL income levels and that, my fashionistas, is why we LOVE her!

Whether she's hittin The Dougie with school kids, chillin with the fam or rubbing elbows with the Queen her fashion game is what?! ON POINT! FLOTUS, Michelle Obama, gets the official Pearlie's Fashion Passion Seal of Approval and LIFETIME SWAG PASS! Mrs. Obama, Pearlie's Fashion Passion LOVES you and your style!

Enjoy the photos of our FABULOUSLY, FIERCE FIRST LADY!

Ciao Bellas!
