If you have an oval face, consider yourself lucky...an oval shaped face is the ideal face shape.

Round Face:

If you have a round shaped face, the best brow shape for you is a high arch. To get this brow look you can think like an oval shape face diva. Brows like Jennifer Anniston, Vanessa Williams, Grace Kelly and Jewel will work great for you too.

If you have a long face, the best brow shape for you is a flat, horizontal shape. To get this brow look, think of brows like Jennifer Love Hewitt, Denise Richards, Juliette Binoche, and Monica Bellucci.

If you have a square face, the best brow shape for you is a defined sharp peak at the top of the brow and a peaked angle on the tail of the brow. To get this brow look, think of brows like Cameron Diaz, Marilyn Monroe, Christina Aguilera, and Uma Thurman.

Define Your Brows...

Do you tweeze your brows on your own or have them professionally waxed, threaded, or if you dare try electrolysis for permanent hair removal. If you're in the Wichita area, Kathy at Nails and Beyond (235 and West Central, across from the QT) does FABULOUS brows, the salon atmosphere is peaceful and serene and the prices for ALL services are very reasonable. Check it out!

No matter what grooming service you prefer shaping your brows with a little make-up is essential. Below are tips and tricks from yours truly to creating and maintaining the PERFECT brow.

The first step in creating your brow is to determine your skin type. If you have normal to dry skin you can use an eyebrow pencil. If you have oily skin you can use powders or oil free brow liners.  If you're like me and have oily skin you can get away with using both a pencil and powder.

Once you've decided which product to use; pencil, powder, or both choose a color. When selecting a color, it's best to choose a color that is as close to your natural hair color as possible.

After you've selected your pencil or powder color you're ready to start creating your perfect brow. Start your brow by outlining your brow with concealer. As a beginner, when carrying out this step it is safe to follow your natural brow shape. As you get better, you can start getting fancy and creating all kinds of brow shapes that are flattering to your face.

Once you've outlined your brow, take the eyebrow pencil and make short, quick strokes on the upper portion of your brow. You can define the 'arch point' in your brows with the pencil.

When the upper portion of your brow has been defined with the pencil, take your angle brush and brow powder to fill in your brow and make sure the powder blends with the eyebrow pencil brush strokes you made earlier.

Brush your brows with eyebrow brush to better blend the pencil and powder. Once the brow powder and pencil are 100% blended take a small foundation brush and blend the concealer on top and bottom portion of brow to display your perfectly created brow.

Lastly, apply foundation and powder as normal and make sure you do not mess up your perfectly sculpted brow.

SN: If you choose to try these steps to create the perfect brow let me know and post pics. Sorry I didn't have step by step photos to post for better visual aids...I'm in Houston visiting my family and don't have my computer. When I get back to Kansas, I will post step by step photos.

Double Denim: DO or DON'T?

This whole double denim thing is kind of taking the world of fashionistas by storm. I've been aware of this trend for quite some time and while I have yet to try it myself I've seen it on some of my celebrity friends (they're my friends in my head...don't judge) and it's kind of grown on me. The hard part with this trend is deciding how YOU are going to rock it and make it your own. I'm headed out of town this weekend (H-TOWN, baby!), so I think I'll rock this look in the airport. I'll post pictures of my Double Denim look some time next week. In the mean time, if you're in the mood, try this look for yourself. If you do, take pics and post them on the FB page..I'd love to see how you diva fashionistas rock this look. If you post to the FB page, I just might have a lil sumthin sumthin for the first poster.

BUT...before you try this look and post the pics, check out the style tips below to help you get your look together!

Lighten up: Pair your denim with some white jeans for an easy, breezy look (see Ashley Tisdale).
Think black and blue: Black and blue isn't just the color of bruises. In a rush, pair your denim with a white (fitted or loose), a denim jacket, and black skinny jeans a la Kourtney Kardashian.

Add a pop of COLOR: If you choose to wear ALL denim, use a pop of color to break up the monotony of your look. Add a colorful clutch or handbag or even a scarf. (see Katie Holmes).

Stick to similar washes: Similar washes make the look. Pair dark grey jeans with a blue denim shirt. The 'murky' colors create a grungy, but hip look (see Sienna Miller).

Mix high-contrast pieces: When in doubt, play it safe, but chic by pairing a light wash top with a dark wash bottom. This creates a crisp and clean look that's breakfast, lunch or throw on some heels for a dinner look (see Reese Witherspoon).

Pick a pattern: Break the rules and throw in some patterns a la Diane Kruger. Combine stripes, florals, pops of color, blazers...whatever you like to create the eclectically chic look.

I WISH...

So once again, StylePantry.com has me drooling again...first it was the sneak peek photos of Versace for H&M (pics coming soon) and now it's the Cavalli campaign.

If I was just a little bit smaller, skipped a few cupcakes and cocktail here and there I MIGHT, JUST MIGHT be able to squeeze my rump into a few of these pieces. Until then, I'll stick with collecting designer handbags because handbags DO NOT discriminate!

Have a great day beauties and enjoy these FABULOUS fashion pieces.

FEENIN...

*Creeping to the stage like a 90's R&B group...*

*In my cool R&B singer voice*

'Hit me!'
'Take my money, my townhome (I don't have a house, house...LOL!), and car for one look at you, you could have it all...picking you up off the shelf is worse than drugs because I'm addicted to youuuuuuu...
I. CAN'T. LEAVE. YOU. ALONE.
You got me feenin (got me going crazy)
I. CAN'T. LEAVE. YOU. ALONE.
Shoes, you got me feenin. Feenin for YOUUUUU!!!

Whew! It's quite obvious I'm feenin, jonesin and all those other words that would describe how much I love, LOVE, LOVE shoes. This weekend I took a quick lil road trip to KC with some friends, saw the R. Kelly concert which was fabulous and did a little shopping! While on the trip I picked up a couple pairs of shoes and saw some shoes that I had me at HELLO! The cool thing about these shoes is they can all be purchased at Charlotte Russe, all are under $40.00 AND if you buy one pair you can get the second for $15.00. Two pairs of cute shoes for $50.00?! It doesn't get much better than that if you ask me!

Enjoy these great finds and pick some up if you can. I know I can't wait to get my hands on a few pairs!

Ciao!

Pair this with a nude skirt, shirt, pants, whatever...
You'll be hot to trot! < that was a throwback phrase...LOL!

Dear MAC...

Dear MAC,

We've been together since high school. I remember when I was introduced to you by one of my friends (Candice Maynard) during study hall in the gym at The Woodlands High School. She showed me her new compact and it was so beautiful. From that moment, I knew that I had to figure out how to sneak to The Galleria to get my hands on you. After much plotting I was able to drive my awesome car (Black Camaro with custom detail and an engine that roared like no other...you couldn't tell me I wasn't the flyest high schooler...the boys called me Knight Rider...I'm digressing...sorry...reliving my youthful days) to the Galleria and get my hands on you, Studio FX NW45. It's been about 12 years and you've been so wonderful to me and I've even gotten to know some of your other friends Studio Tech NC50, Liquid Studio FX NW45, and a host of other beauties, BUT I think our time is up for now. I'm moving on, branching out to new products. My NEW fave of the moment is IMAN Cosmetics...I love the smoothness of the pressed powder and the great coverage. IMAN and I have only been together for about a week and so far so good. I'm going to branch out and try some of the collection's other friends in the near future.

Just because we're in an 'open relationship' now does not mean I won't come back...I'm just taking a break...exploring other options...you know how it is. I hope you understand.

Love,

The Bouje Beauty

XOXO

Okay, lovelies...that was me being dramatic...LOL! So yeah, I'm branching out from MAC and giving IMAN Cosmetics a whirl...so far, so good. :) This product can be found at most Target and Wal-Mart stores. I purchased my pressed powder at a Target store in Chicago. If you're in the Wichita, KS area I know you can find the product at the Wal-Mart on 29th and Rock...as far as I know I think that's the only location in the city carrying the brand. If I see it somewhere else I'll be sure to let you know. This weekend I'll be grabbing some of the eyeshadow colors...I'm certain they'll be just as great as the pressed powder.

If you venture out and get some IMAN Cosmetics, be sure to let me know how you like them. Hit me up on the blog, FB (www.facebook.com/pblb08) or on Twitter PBLB08.

I look forward to hearing from you all!

Ciao!
