The Mrs. Carter Pre-Game Show...

Before I get into this post, I have to offer a little disclaimer. Blogger has been giving me the blues when it comes to uploading pictures. I've been trying to upload the photos for this post for what seems like a million and one years. It was orginally set to post on 02/13/13, but it didn't quite work out. Honestly, the plan still didn't work out because I was unable to get ALL of the photos from the spread loaded, but we'll just be thankful for what I was able to load, right? RIGHT! :) Anyway, y'all better enjoy this post...it took me FOREVER to get it together...LBVS! (Laughing But VERY Serious)

Hey Lovies!

I don't know if y'all keep up with Beyonce a.k.a. Mrs. Carter the way I do so I thought I'd share her latest activities. First, she did the spread for GQ (it was a little racy and according to my mama, who's also a Beyonce fan, 'It was in poor taste because she is somebody's mama now.'), then she shut down the Super Bowl (literally), then she announced the Mrs. Carter Tour coming to a city near you, this Saturday she'll be showing a more intimate side of herself with her self-produced documentary, Life Is But A Dream and then I just found out she will be on the March cover of Vogue looking as fabulous as ever (I think my mama will approve of this cover more than she did the GQ cover).

Anyway, take a peek at the eight page spread of Mrs. Carter that will be featured in Vogue this month.

Why Get Naked When You Can Get Nude...

Hey Lovies!

I know the title of this post threw some of y'all for a loop...LOL! No, I'm not turning into some weirdo, perverted blogger...I just thought the title would be catching and kinda funny. Anyway, the purpose of this post is to give you makeup junkies an opportunity to save some money.

Everyone has been going gaga over the Naked and Naked II palettes by Urban Decay and rightfully so...it's a great product made by a great brand, BUT not everyone has a spare $50 plus dollars to spend OR if you're anything like me you're a frugalista and don't want to spend $50 when you can get a comparable product for half the price! Yes lovies, I said it...you can get an eyeshadow palette similar to the Naked Palette for half the price.

Our friends at NYX have the Nude palette and it is quite similar to the Urban Decay palette and HALF the price, $24.99?! Now I will let yall know I did not purchase the palette, but I plan on doing so and I'm certain I will be pleased. I'm an avid user of NYX products and I've yet to be disappointed. NYX products have great pigment and coverage and I'm certain y'all will love the product just as much as I do.

NYX products, including the Nude Palette, can be purchased at ULTA and some beauty supply stores carry NYX products.

Little Is The New BIG: Louis Vuitton Minis, Yea or Nay?

I love Louis Vuitton just as much as the next person, so I was excited to see some of the new items in the Spring collection. There was one item in the collection that made me say "Hmmmm..." and that was the Mini Collection. Yes, Louis Vuitton has a 'mini collection.' At first I thought having the mini collection was a great idea until I saw the price point of those mini handbags. Sure,  the price is significantly lower than the full size, but for some reason I have a hard time paying a small fortune ($1,400.00) for a small piece of purse when I could go full-size versions of the following items: a Louis Vuitton Speedy, a couple of Michael Kors bags, a couple pairs of Manolo Blahnik pumps(only if you got the most basic), 2 months rent, several months of payments to Sallie Mae ( I HATE her!), a few car payments, oh and a car (I mean it'd be a cash car, but it'd get you from point A to B with no problems!).

What I'm trying to say is I, Natalie Dianne Reed, will NOT be purchasing a Louis Vuitton Mini. I think I can find something better to do with my hard earned money. What's your take, lovies? Let me know!

Texas, STAND UP...

Hey Lovies!

Last night three of  my favorite ladies all clad in leather showed up and showed out at the Super Bowl last night. Destiny's Child, my favorite girl group of all time, reunited in the N.O. last night and LITERALLY set the stage on fire!

I was at a Super Bowl party with friends who clearly didn't understand my love for DC3 and Beyonce, because they laughed when I said, 'Everybody be quiet, Beyonce is on!' Then they laughed even harder when my eyes lit up when  Michelle and Kelly shot through the floor and popped up on stage looking like little, leather rockets! Last night wasa  great night...my girls turned the stage out and Ravens won! Talk about Sunday Funday!

A while back I was asked to do a little wardrobe styling for a photo shoot. The shoot was in KC and I have no idea what the photographer's name was (I wasn't there on the the day of...I just put the pieces together and sent them with instructions on how to put it all together...not my preferred method of styling, but I do what I can). Anyway- I just caught up with the model and got copies of the images. I must say, I'm quite impressed with the way the images came out...the images came out just the way I imagined them in my head.

I sent the pic to my bestie as soon as I got them and here's what she said:

I don’t know why but it screams NDR. OMG you’re a real stylist. Like you know when you see something styled by Jason Wu or Michael Kors…I can tell you styled this. Very good.

Crushed: No DC3 Reunion At The Super Bowl...

Soooo I was BEYond excited about the the DC3 Reunion (Beyonce, Michelle and Kelly), but it looks like it's not going to happen. According to sources, Essence Magazine, the trio will not be reuniting, because Michelle is starring in the Broadway Production of Fela! and the show is opening the same time as the Super Bowl. I'm so sad...I was really looking forward to this performance and I was really wondering if Miss Tina would pull out some ol sequins embellished short set type ensemble of days old for the girls to wear (y'all know y'all remember them short sets...Beyonce always got the shorts because she had the legs, Kelly got pants and a crop top because she had the abs, and Michelle...well, Michelle just got the left over material that was usually some sort of modest style dress...y'all know I'm not lyin...LOL)! Regardless of what they wore, I LOVED them then and I LOVE them now!

I'm secretly hoping all of this reunion cancellation talk is a hoax and the group will perform; I mean stranger things have been happening (think Manti Te'o and his FAKE RELATIONSHIP, BeyonceGate, and a host of other stupid things that continuously make the news headlines). As I find out more information via my most reliable source, Twitter (LOL...I ain't shame), I will let y'all know. Until then, anxiously wait King Bey's performance at half time of the Super Bowl...I know I am! :)

Does It Work?

Hey Lovies! I was perusing (don't y'all just love that word? PERUSING) Facebook one more before I got out of bed to get ready for work and I came across a post about attaining beautiful hair. The post read a little something like this...

'Indian women are known for their beautiful hair. Hair oil massages are a big thing. Once per week apply coconut, olive, or almond oil to the hair, massage it in for five minutes, leave on for ten minutes and then shampoo.'

I haven't tried this, but it may be worth a shot especially since I'm rockin' my natural curls these days and I have a crazy hard time maintaining the moisture. I'll give it a whirl sometime this week or next week and let y'all know how it works out. If any of y'all give it a whirl, let me know what you think!

Happy December...

Hey Lovies! It's the first day of December which means there are 24 days until Christmas (YIPPPEEEE)!!!!! I've pretty much finished ALL of my Christmas shopping, plus or minus a few things, so now it's time for me to focus on ME!

I usually don't ask for much, because I think I pretty much have everything I need (good health, great family, great friends...you know...the usual) and everything else is a WANT. BUT this year all I'm asking for is the closet shown below with the shoes included...is that too much to ask for? (Probably so, considering the shoe collection is worth well over $20,000.00...a diva can dream...sue me?!)

Well enjoy, drool, or whatever over my soon-to-be FABULOUS closet...I'm certain Santa or some other kind human being will hook a sista up!
